About The Position

The Penske Field Service Supervisor leads a maintenance team over a defined territory of field service operations. Key responsibilities include coordinating, and confirming vehicle maintenance repairs, including preventive maintenance and mechanical and electrical repairs for tractors, trucks, and trailers. This role requires strong communication, customer relationship management, and organizational skills to engage technicians and ensure legendary customer experience. The Field Service Supervisor plays an active role in hiring, training, and developing maintenance technicians to ensure a highly skilled and engaged workforce capable of meeting customer expectations.

Requirements

  • Ability and desire to work in a positive, fast paced and high-energy environment
  • Willingness to engage in daily travel between assigned locations and working beside field service technicians on a daily and ongoing basis within a specific territory.
  • Willingness and ability to have a flexible work schedule to meet the hour of operation needs.
  • 3-5 years fleet maintenance management experience preferred, or at least 3 years of team management in an environment with strong operational metrics.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • The associate will be required to understand and comply with specific instructions, guidelines, rules, regulations, or other information established by Penske management
  • The associate must be able to perform all work adhering to DOT, OSHA, and all Penske safety and maintenance policies; including but not limited to the correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practice.
  • Willingness to have regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
  • This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required. Associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and leads a group of technicians across multiple service zones.
  • Leads hiring and onboarding of technicians and contributes to ongoing training and development planning across assigned territory.
  • Provides timely feedback and coaching to improve technician effectiveness and reduce rework.
  • Drives timely, quality field repairs through coordinated efforts with other Penske internal roles.
  • Monitors and verifies the quality of technician work and documentation both in-person and virtually. Uses these touchpoints to assess service standards, ensure compliance with procedures, and support technician development through real-time coaching and feedback.
  • Controls repair, inventory, and labor costs through local and corporate Penske location collaboration.
  • Analyzes performance trends and makes recommendations to improve technician productivity and service consistency across locations.
  • Acts as an escalation point for field service operations, offering guidance and feedback aligned with field performance goals.
  • Oversees the condition, compliance, and safe operation of Penske-owned assets.
  • Ensures oversight of Penske field service locations and units, assuring a clean and safe working environment.
  • Conducts safety audits, field observations, and check-ins with technicians across multiple sites to ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety policies.
  • Coaches technicians and peer supervisors on safe work practices and leads by example to build a strong safety culture in mobile operations.
  • Supports technicians in delivering professional, customer-centric experience through leading quality maintenance practices.
  • Participates in customer reviews and flags trends for account risk.
  • Partners with local supervisors and account leaders to support customer experience.
  • Identifies systemic issues across assigned operations and makes recommendations for staffing and resourcing to leadership.
