About The Position

Raytheon Field Engineering is anticipating an opportunity for a Principal Field Service Specialist at Offutt AFB Nebraska to support the E-4B program, which is a key component of the National Military Command System for the President, the Secretary of Defense, and Joint Chiefs of Staff. In this role you will provide Engineering and Technical Assistance Services (ETAS) effectively solving customer issues, complaints, and inquiries. You will also keep customer satisfaction at the core of every decision, behavior and maintain a high energy level.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advance Degree in a related field and a minimum of 2 years’ experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Professional development experience on E-4B airborne platform DSS-2A switching system specific characteristics and operational capabilities.
  • Meet 8140 DCWF qualification requirements for 451 basic level.
  • Experience with circuit functionality and system architecture in airborne platforms, evaluated through practical assessments, prior work experience, or certification.
  • Experience with LRU replacement and fault isolation including fiber optic and copper circuits.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the operation and installation of Internet Protocol (IP) switches and routers.
  • Comprehension in Microsoft Office suite of software to include Visio and OneNote.
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and executing statements of work, drawing packages, wiring diagrams, floor plans, technical documentation, directives, and standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, set priorities, and manage time effectively.
  • Experience performing system-level checks on airborne communication or avionics systems, including verification of circuit continuity and communication link integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently in a customer support role to provide ad hoc on-site Engineering and Technical Assistance Services.
  • Identify customers’ needs, clarify information, explain procedures, answer questions, research every issue and provide solutions and/or alternatives.
  • Document field issues for replication and maintain records for later analysis.
  • Coordinate with other departments who will be affected.
  • Work with other engineering disciplines and subject matter experts to resolve issues.
  • Maintain focus and adaptability by engaging with customers through written and verbal communication.
  • May be required to provide 24-hour on-call technical support.
  • Up to 20% travel supporting mission aircraft.
