About The Position

As a Field Service Specialist III, you will provide specialized repair and maintenance services for diagnostic imaging (radiology, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, etc.) and biomedical equipment. You will primarily repair and maintain intermediate and high-tech imaging equipment such as DR, basic CT/CT Sim, oncology, Vascular/Specials, Cath Lab, MRI, Advanced CT Scanners, and PET units more than 75% of the time. You will leverage training to reduce contract dependency and function as a leader within the Clinical Engineering department, assisting other Field Service Specialists with imaging equipment repair. Your duties also include managing service emergencies and communications with stakeholders, ordering parts and supplies, providing coverage for the CE Manager during their absence, identifying new service opportunities, analyzing cost histories for expense reduction, and supporting general biomedical equipment as needed. Success in this role requires advanced technical expertise, strong leadership, exceptional problem-solving, a proactive approach to cost reduction/training, and commitment to precise, operational healthcare technology. You must keep up to date on technological and medical advances and maintain an up-to-date understanding of The Joint Commission, NFPA, and other regulatory agencies/standards.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering or related field, equivalent military education, graduate of technical program, or equivalent training validated through training certificates or Equivalent experience, upon hire.
  • A minimum of seven years’ experience servicing medical imaging equipment such as General X-Ray (Rad, including but not limited to Rad Rooms, Portables and C-Arms).
  • Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized repair and maintenance services for diagnostic imaging and biomedical equipment.
  • Repair and maintain intermediate imaging equipment (DR, basic CT/CT Sim, oncology, Vascular/Specials).
  • Perform repair and maintenance on “High Tech” imaging equipment, such as Cath Lab, MRI, Advanced CT Scanners, and PET units more than 75% of the time.
  • Lead within Clinical Engineering, providing oversight and assistance to FSS for efficient and cost-effective repair and maintenance of imaging equipment.
  • Manage service emergencies and communications with Vendor, Department, and Clinical Engineering CE Manager.
  • Assist in the ordering of parts and supplies necessary for the servicing of Diagnostic Imaging and Biomedical equipment.
  • Provide coverage and support for CE Manager during manager’s absence.
  • Provide input to the CE Manager regarding new service opportunities within a location serviced by the Clinical Engineering Division.
  • Provide appropriate service cost history to the CE Manager with an emphasis on Contract Vs. Time and Material contrast for the continual reduction of service expense.
  • May also provide repair and maintenance of general biomedical equipment as secondary responsibility or as assigned.
  • Keep up to date on technological and medical advances.
  • Maintain up to date understanding of The Joint Commission, NFPA, and other regulatory agencies/standards.
