About The Position

WR has a potential opportunity for a Field Service Representative, Lead (NAVCERT). This role offer an exciting and challenging opportunity to represent the Navigation Systems In-Service Engineering Activity (ISEA) in conducting Navigation Certifications (NAVCERT) aboard U.S. Navy ships. Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: Conduct dockside and at-sea tests; analyze collected data and identify and resolve installation, technical, and procedural issues. Provide expertise to resolve navigation system interface issues with other shipboard systems and assist in developing and updating required documentation and procedures. Travel to sponsor sites as a technical representative; conduct field tests, interpret and evaluate field data, and serve as a liaison with industrial, governmental, and other sponsors. Prepare status, progress, and final project reports describing results of field experiments and/or inspections. Light-off, configure, test, troubleshoot, and operate primary systems and peripheral equipment in support of projects. Verify functionality of newly installed equipment and evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions. Continuously develop skills related to new technology and systems relevant to ongoing and anticipated projects. Maintain and seek improvements to test procedures and processes for maximum efficiency, safety, and quality. Provide oversight and on-the-job training to lower-level technicians. Provide input to Project Managers for proposals and Statements of Work.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Technical training in U.S. Navy Navigation Systems.
  • Five (5)+ years of hands-on experience with U.S. Navy Navigation equipment and systems, including experience in at least three (3) of the following four (4) areas:
  • Systems Requirements
  • Operational Requirements
  • Test & Evaluation
  • Training
  • Recognized expert demonstrating industry and public service leadership in U.S. Navy Navigation equipment and systems.
