About The Position

This position supports installations and service calls exclusively at GROB customer sites. The technician must be available to travel on short notice to locations designated by GROB. At customer sites, the technician performs mechanical builds and starts up machine tool equipment. The role supports North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia; applicants should reside within this territory. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, in-depth knowledge of metric prints, and an understanding of assembly technology and/or metal-cutting principles. The technician may work independently or as part of a team and must be willing to work overtime as needed and travel for business requirements.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent minimum.
Understanding of drawings, schematics, and troubleshooting.
Ability to travel as required for business needs.
Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team environment.
Full understanding of the metric system.
Strong math skills.
Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport.
Applicants should reside within the North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia territory.

Nice To Haves

NC programming experience.
Previous CNC machining or machine-building experience.
Previous experience with assembly equipment and robotic cells.

Responsibilities

Respond quickly to customer installations or problems on short notice.
Assemble and start up new CNC machines to GROB specifications.
Assemble and start up assembly equipment.
Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, levels, indicators, and micrometers.
Read and follow mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical prints and drawings.
Read and follow tool layouts and NC code, including G-code and M-functions.
Troubleshoot machine errors.
Respond to customer emergency calls in a timely manner.
