About The Position

Talon Recruiting has partnered with a leading Heavy Equipment Dealer. We are in search of Field Service Mechanic to join their team in Tacoma, WA. Field Mechanics are responsible for repairing, diagnosing, inspecting and maintaining various types of forestry and other earth moving equipment, primarily servicing rentals, and customer owned equipment. Our ideal mechanic has 3-5 years’ of experience in electrical, hydraulics and computer controlled systems, drive train, & engines; communicates effectively and professionally to customers, supervisors and vendors; can drive company vehicle to/from company locations, and job sites; be on call; able to lift up to 50 lbs.; Technicians from all certification levels will be considered.

Requirements

3-5 years’ of experience in electrical, hydraulics and computer controlled systems, drive train, & engines
Competent using laptop computer and scan tools as part of diagnostic trouble-shooting
Possess safe work habits, with a “can do” job completion attitude
Able to read schematics (both electrical and hydraulic)
Knowledgeable in troubleshooting various heavy equipment product lines
Required to have your own hand tools up to 1 ½ inch
A high school diploma or equivalent is required
Able to pass a drug screen and background check
Valid Driver’s License, with CDL endorsement is Required

Nice To Haves

Factory, vocational, or mechanical training is a plus
History of working with different forms of heavy equipment, specifically cranes, excavators and forestry equipment

Responsibilities

Repairing, diagnosing, inspecting and maintaining various types of forestry and other earth moving equipment
