About The Position

At Sartorius, you'll play a critical role in helping our customers keep essential laboratory equipment operating at peak performance. As a Field Service Engineer, you'll serve as a trusted technical partner, delivering installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair services while building long-term customer relationships throughout the Midwest territory. This is a field-based position covering Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, and Iowa. Ideal candidate will reside in Kansas City.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a technical field, or High School Diploma/GED with relevant technical certification.
  • Minimum 2 years of field service, maintenance, instrumentation, or related technical experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain technical equipment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a field-based environment.
  • Proficiency with mobile applications, digital reporting tools, and Microsoft Office products.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory.

  • Experience calibrating balances, scales, moisture analyzers, or similar laboratory instruments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional service and technical support during customer site visits.
  • Perform installation, calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of balances and moisture analyzers.
  • Diagnose equipment issues and provide effective, timely solutions to minimize customer downtime.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation, reports, and records.
  • Manage workload and service schedule to ensure on-time customer support.
  • Utilize field service automation tools and systems to support daily operations.
  • Follow Sartorius service procedures, quality standards, and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with internal technical teams to resolve complex issues and share best practices.
  • Provide customers with technical guidance, product recommendations, and service insights.
  • Build lasting customer relationships that drive satisfaction, retention, and business growth.
