As a Field Service Engineer supporting customers in the Alberta, Saskatchewan & Manitoba territory, you will be trusted to provide technical advice to customers including commissioning, installing, and testing of products/equipment.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in electronics or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong background in electronics, electricity, and mechanics.
  • Willingness to work a variable schedule on short notice to meet customer demand.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, SharePoint.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (tools, spare parts, etc.).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for the past three years.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven experience in exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and plan work-related activities.
  • Problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and professional communication in a fast-paced, high-pressure, customer-focused environment.
  • Self-motivated, able to travel and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Two years of hands-on experience with advanced medical devices and medical lasers.
  • Proven technical support skills and effective decision-making abilities.
  • Experience connecting medical devices to hospital networks.
  • Working knowledge of ServiceMax/Salesforce.
  • Candidates must be able to work independently (20% of the time) and in the field (80% of the time).
  • Candidates must also be able to travel overnight (50% of the time) or as needed.
  • Must reside in Alberta (preferred) or Manitoba

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology or engineering (training or experience in IT).
  • Previous experience working in a hospital operating room and knowledge of surgical center protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance, make improvements, and carry out system upgrades and installations.
  • Establish and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Respond promptly to customer concerns and resolve issues related to quality assurance and medical safety.
  • Manage the daily schedule while maintaining accurate and timely communication with customers, dispatchers, managers, and regional and cross-functional teams.
  • Complete all administrative responsibilities accurately and on time.
  • Assist the sales team, clinical team, and internal team, including other on-site service representatives, as needed.
  • Manage inventory, maintain accurate records, and promptly return unused and defective parts.
  • Promote and sell maintenance contract offerings to customers and assist the sales team in selling maintenance contracts within the assigned territory, as needed.
