About The Position

Providing service and support to our shipyard customers, the Field Service Engineer is heavily involved in hands-on projects aboard vessels and in shipyard environments. From custom-designed elevators and lifts to complex hydraulic and mechanical systems, you'll troubleshoot issues, support installations, perform inspections, and develop practical engineering solutions that keep critical equipment operating safely and reliably. As our Field Service Engineer, you'll be the technical expert in the field, working directly with customers, craftsmen, and shipyard personnel to diagnose problems, perform failure analysis, and return equipment to service. Whether supporting a system overhaul, leading a repair effort, or commissioning new equipment, you'll combine engineering expertise with hands-on problem solving to keep projects moving and machinery mission ready.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field
  • 5+ years’ Shipyard Experience
  • Expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, And Hydraulic Systems within the shipbuilding industry
  • Strong ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings and work order specifications
  • Experience troubleshooting, repairing, installing, commissioning, or maintaining complex mechanical and electro-hydraulic equipment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical engineering solutions in the field
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, such as Excel, Word, Outlook and Project
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Highly organized with effective time management skills
  • Ability to function within working conditions of a shipyard
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (typically no more than 30%, but on rare occasions may fluctuate up to 50% depending on business needs)
  • Valid Driver's License without restriction

Responsibilities

  • Provide service and support to shipyard customers.

  • Make real-time decisions in demanding environments.
  • Conduct failure analysis.
  • Interpret engineering documentation.
  • Guide repair activities that keep projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Resolve hydraulic issues.
  • Support major overhauls.
  • Commission newly installed systems.
  • Develop action plans and execute effective solutions in the field.
