About The Position

We’re seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills to install and service advanced CNC and industrial woodworking machinery. If you take pride in solving difficult problems, working independently, and seeing the results of your work, this role offers variety, technical challenges, and direct impact. You’ll take ownership of field assignments, build relationships with customers, and collaborate with fellow technicians on complex installations and repairs—all while expanding your knowledge across SCM technologies. This position supports customers throughout Northern California and the Pacific Northwest, with preferred home locations in Sacramento, Redding, Portland, Seattle, and Spokane. You’ll be based from home and travel to customer and dealer sites by air and automobile. Extensive travel and frequent overnight stays are central to this role, so candidates must be comfortable spending substantial time away from home and should reside within the region near a major airport.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in industrial equipment maintenance, installation, or technical service.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Practical knowledge of mechanics, electricity, pneumatics, and industrial automation.
  • The ability to work independently, solve problems methodically, and communicate professionally with customers.
  • A valid U.S. driver’s license in good standing and the ability to travel regularly by air and automobile.
  • Availability for emergency night and weekend work and participation in an after-hours on-call rotation.
  • Fluent English

Nice To Haves

  • Italian or Spanish language skills
  • CNC machinery, PLC, industrial automation, or similar equipment experience
  • Technical education in an industrial discipline
  • Experience with SCM technologies

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, commission, and start up SCM CNC and industrial woodworking equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control systems, including relay circuits, electronic boards, hardware, and software.
  • Complete preventive maintenance, repairs, and warranty and billable service work.
  • Train machine users on equipment operation and clearly explain service findings and next steps.
  • Maintain professional communication, punctuality, and a strong focus on safety and quality.
  • Accurately record service activities, technical findings, and time in the CRM system.
  • Collaborate on complex projects, share knowledge, and communicate technical feedback and commercial opportunities to internal departments.
