ProAutomated is hiring Field Service Engineers for its 2026 hiring pipeline. This travel-focused role supports automation projects by partnering with system integrators and manufacturers to test and validate systems; the company does not install systems. Engineers travel to customer sites across North America and are away from home while working. There is no office to report to. Typical rotations include 5 days on/2 days off, 10 days on/4 days off, or 14 days on/7 days off. The position includes four weeks of paid training intended to prepare technically skilled individuals for field work. Training success requires a basic foundation in electrical systems, programming, and communication networking. The starting salary is $60,000–$75,000, depending on location, education, and experience, with additional per diem for meals, mileage reimbursement, utilization bonuses, and weekend bonuses. The company offers annual merit raises and a 5% salary increase after six months, along with benefits and paid vacation. Flexible time off is available after 18 months. Candidates should enjoy travel, be adaptable and resourceful, and have strong communication and problem-solving skills. They must live within 50 miles of a major airport, be authorized to work in the U.S., and have a personal vehicle within 45 days of employment for local projects. A technical degree or equivalent hands-on experience of at least three years in a related field is required. The role involves physical work at large facilities and job sites, including walking, climbing, lifting, and working in varied environments. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
