What sets DSI apart: Competitive compensation with overtime 401(k) with company match Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage HSA, FSA, and dependent care options Paid holidays and vacation Life insurance and long-term disability All travel expenses covered + mileage reimbursement High-visibility work supporting essential production systems What You’ll Do Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial automation systems Support PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, robotics, drives, and control systems Respond to customer downtime and production issues (on-site and remote) Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control system problems Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation Provide technical support and customer training Build strong, professional relationships with manufacturing customers This is a customer-facing Field Service Engineer role supporting industrial automation environments.

Requirements

  • Experience with a proven track record in Field Service, Industrial Automation or Controls Engineering
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience working with industrial automation systems in a field service, manufacturing, or systems integration environment
  • Proven experience troubleshooting PLC-based control systems
  • Ability to travel to customer sites (local with some regional travel)
  • Strong customer-facing communication and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • Systems integrator or engineering services background
  • Experience with PLCs, SCADA, DCS, robotics, servos, and VFDs
  • Familiarity with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell, Siemens, and similar platforms
  • Experience supporting live production environments

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial automation systems
  • Support PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, robotics, drives, and control systems
  • Respond to customer downtime and production issues (on-site and remote)
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control system problems
