About The Position

This is a unique, HQ-based Field Service Engineer role for someone who thrives on variety over a fixed territory. As our floater FSE, you'll step into a trainer's or mentor's territory anywhere in North America for the full duration of each training or mentoring event, keeping coverage seamless while they're out. When no event is active, you'll cover PTO, illness, and peak overflow. Being based at MTS headquarters means faster ramp-up, direct access to SMEs and training resources, and central dispatch to wherever coverage is needed next. Day to day, the work is hands-on: installing, maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting complex servo-hydraulic and electro-mechanical test systems at customer sites. Training on MTS-specific technology is provided, and strong hands-on technical aptitude is essential. Travel: This role involves frequent travel to customer sites across North America, since coverage assignments follow wherever a training or mentoring event or overflow need arises. Travel will vary week to week rather than following a fixed regional pattern, and candidates should be genuinely comfortable with, and energized by, a highly travel-oriented role.
