About The Position

This is a hands-on role in Field Services within the Pulp & Energy sector. Valmet is seeking individuals to mentor into the next generation of paper and power industry professionals. The role involves supporting Recovery Field Service (RFS) and Energy Field Service (EFS) for the North American teams, playing a critical role in supporting customer operations and ensuring equipment runs at optimal levels. The position requires performing process and field services for various Pulp, Energy, & Circularity equipment and products typically found in a Pulp & Paper mill, including Utilities, Recausticizing, Woodyard, Fiber processing, and Pulping & Paper equipment. The day-to-day activities include supporting all field service activities, assisting others in the field, and traveling to customer locations to provide critical hands-on support for planned and unplanned maintenance, as well as emergency situations. The goal is to provide the highest level of commitment and service to customers.

Requirements

Degree from college, university, or technical/trade school; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to travel greater than 50% or more for providing service and following up with customers.
International assignments may be required.
Strong background in Boilers (Chemical Recovery and Power Generation), Woodyard, Evaporation, Lime Kiln, Pulp drying, and Recaust would be helpful.
Good communication and organizational skills required.
Strong PC skills.
Applicant must be living and authorized to work in the US.

Responsibilities

Perform process and field services for a wide variety of Pulp, Energy, & Circularity equipment and products.
Support all field service activities.
Support others in the field.
Travel to customer locations to deliver critical hands-on support.
Provide service for planned and unplanned maintenance, or on an as-needed emergency basis.
Completing Start-ups, Shut-downs, commissioning services, Inspections and Condition assessments.
Ensure equipment is running at optimum levels.
Work with cutting edge technology and tools.
Perform Maintenance and Service Agreements, Tune-ups, Troubleshooting.
May include travel overseas to support targeted projects.
Outage Planning and execution.
Emergency assistance and root cause analysis.
Support and adhere to Valmet Health, Safety, and Environmental goals and directives.
Prepare and submit detailed service reports as directed in a timely manner.
Work in a team environment with Field Service Engineers, Product Engineers, and Sales personnel.
Develop relationships with key customers and conduct service sales visits.
