Field Service Engineer - Semiconductor Equipment
About The Position
The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for installing, assembling, configuring, and commissioning Diffusion semiconductor processing equipment. This role involves performing equipment modifications, upgrades, and system integrations. The engineer will conduct equipment checkout, calibration, testing, and validation to ensure operational readiness. They will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and system-level issues to minimize downtime and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on semiconductor manufacturing equipment. The position requires supporting customer sites with equipment startups, repairs, and technical service activities, while maintaining accurate service documentation. Adherence to safety, quality, and cleanroom protocols is essential. The engineer will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and customer teams to resolve technical issues and stay current with equipment specifications through ongoing training.
Requirements
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Technical experience with semiconductor equipment, electronics, electromechanical systems, or industrial machinery
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and procedures
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Excellent customer-facing communication and professionalism
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel and support customer installations and service activities
- Ability to work in cleanroom and physically demanding environments
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Commitment to safety, quality, and maintaining customer site access credentials and conduct standards
Nice To Haves
- Military technical experience or prior field service experience is a plus
- Technical training or associate degree preferred
