About The Position

The FSE I/II performs Calibrations/Qualifications and some repairs on small laboratory instrumentation, including pipettes, balances, timers and thermometers. This role involves performing calibration, preventative maintenance, and repair of various types of laboratory equipment both in the field and in the lab. The position requires travel to customer sites, effective management of personal parts inventory, and providing feedback to management regarding service delivery issues. Additionally, the role entails completing administrative paperwork promptly and accurately, following good documentation practices, and efficiently scheduling service with clients. Adherence to environmental health and safety guidelines, effective communication with clients and internal/external parties, and following Eurofins work policies and SOPs are crucial. Maintaining client confidentiality and acting impartially within the management system are also key aspects of this role. Other tasks may be assigned by Management.

Requirements

  • Two-year degree in a related science field (e.g., chemistry, analytical chemistry, electronic engineering, biotechnology, or similar)
  • 0-1 years (FSE I) or 1-3 years (FSE II) experience in a related field, preferably as a Field Service Technician
  • Experience in providing calibrations on pipettes and/or balances (FSE II).
  • Physical ability to lift and transport equipment and perform tasks in various lab environments
  • Clear, respectful, and timely verbal and written communication
  • Experience with technical troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Must be self-motivated and proactive
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to travel within customer territory to 1-2 days per week Monday-Friday. Overnight travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform calibration, preventative maintenance and repair both in the field and in the lab of various types of laboratory equipment including pipettes, balances, centrifuges and thermometers.
  • Travel to customer sites to perform calibrations and PM’s as necessary.
  • Manage personal parts inventory effectively.
  • Provide feedback to Manager regarding any issue impacting service delivery, particularly issues impacting turnaround times.
  • Complete administrative paperwork and reports promptly and accurately.
  • Follow good documentation practices (GDP) as applicable to daily activities.
  • Contact customers on time and schedule service efficiently.
  • Adhere to environmental health and safety guidelines.
  • Effectively communicate with clients and other internal and external parties.
  • Follow Eurofins work policies and all applicable SOPs. Ensure that training on both remains current.
  • Maintain client confidentiality, specifically if information about the customer is obtained from sources other than the customer (e.g. complainant, assessors).
  • Act impartially within the management system.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by Management.
