About The Position

The Field Schedule Analyst serves as the Owner’s Representative, independently verifying construction progress in the field and its alignment with the master schedule. The role requires being onsite at least three days per week to perform physical walkdowns, validate installed quantities, and coordinate directly with General Contractor and subcontractor field teams. The remaining time is spent compiling verified quantities and preparing weekly progress data for the scheduling team. The Analyst confirms reported actuals against work physically in place, identifies sequencing, access, and logistics risks, and tracks constraints and missed commitments through resolution so the project and scheduling teams have a single verified view of progress. The position reports to the KALCON Project Controls / Scheduling Lead, with day-to-day direction from the client project team. A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred but is not required when equivalent experience is provided.

Requirements

  • Construction field experience with a working understanding of trade sequencing, means and methods, and installation rates.
  • Familiarity with CPM scheduling concepts and Primavera P6, including the ability to read and interpret schedule activities and look-aheads.
  • Proficiency with quantity tracking tools such as Excel or equivalent, and the ability to maintain organized, auditable records.
  • Ability to perform physical progress verification in active construction environments and be onsite at least three days per week.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence constructively questioning reported progress with subcontractor field leadership.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with General Contractor superintendents, subcontractor foremen and project managers, and scheduling team members.
  • At a minimum, the professional resume must list all educational achievements, professional licenses or certificates, awards received, and detailed employment history for each company, including company name and contact information, start and end dates (month and year), and positions held.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may substitute.

Responsibilities

  • Verify daily and weekly installed quantities and construction progress through physical walkdowns of active work areas.
  • Validate subcontractor-reported actuals against physical work in place by system, area, and activity.
  • Maintain a running quantity tracking log by trade and work area tied to schedule activities and the project quantity basis.
  • Prepare daily field verification notes and photo documentation.
  • Compare field progress with the master schedule, current look-ahead, and upcoming commitments.
  • Challenge discrepancies between reported progress and field conditions, and escalate unresolved variances to the project team.
  • Identify sequencing conflicts, trade stacking, and access or logistics issues that threaten schedule adherence, and recommend corrective adjustments.
  • Identify opportunities to improve schedule adherence, including re-sequencing, resource reallocation, and work-front optimization.
  • Maintain a variance log of discrepancies between reported and verified progress, including resolution status.
  • Coordinate with subcontractor foremen and superintendents to confirm planned and completed work daily.
  • Identify missed commitments, constraints, and roadblocks—including materials, manpower, access, RFIs, and inspections—and track them to resolution.
  • Work with subcontractors to define realistic recovery plans and confirm recovery commitments are reflected in the look-ahead.
  • Maintain a constraint and missed-commitment log with recovery actions and responsible parties.
  • Provide accurate, verified weekly progress data to the project scheduling team in the agreed format and cadence to support schedule updates.
  • Prepare a weekly verified installed-quantity and percent-complete report by trade and area.
  • Flag activities reported complete but not physically complete, or physically complete but not yet reported, before each update cycle.
  • Participate in weekly schedule review meetings and provide a field-based perspective on progress and forecast dates.
