About The Position

Assists in managing the construction of data centers built by colocation providers, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, quality standards, approved design plans, and industry standards. The role supports project scheduling and budgeting, document preparation and management, quality control, tenant fit-out coordination, site inspections, startup and commissioning, and installation of power, cooling, networking, and structured cabling systems. It evaluates delivery risks, identifies mitigation gaps, recommends corrective actions, and implements mitigation strategies. The position serves as the primary point of contact between the company and colocation providers and assists with selecting, negotiating, and managing external vendor, contractor, and supplier contracts. The role also involves independently managing work and deliverables, adapting to resource or schedule changes, collaborating across teams and with stakeholders, resolving standard and non-standard problems, sharing knowledge, seeking feedback and training, and recommending process improvements. This is an IC3 individual-contributor role.

Responsibilities

Assist in managing data center construction projects delivered by colocation providers, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
Develop and maintain project schedules and coordinate with colocation providers to deliver milestones on time.
Assist with project budgets and support efficient, cost-effective use of resources.
Create, review, and maintain design review, commissioning, and problem-solving documentation.
Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure work meets design specifications and industry standards.
Coordinate tenant fit-out projects through design, construction, and commissioning.
Conduct regular site walks to monitor schedule, coordination, and quality.
Assist with startup and commissioning of major data center projects and verify systems meet design specifications.
Evaluate risks to timely project delivery, identify risk-management gaps, recommend corrective actions, and implement mitigation strategies.
Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and colocation providers and maintain stakeholder relationships.
Assist in selecting, negotiating, and managing contracts with vendors, contractors, and suppliers, monitoring compliance and performance.
Coordinate with design teams to keep construction aligned with approved plans and specifications.
Provide input on colocation provider evaluations and continuous improvement.
Assist in overseeing installation of power, cooling, networking, and structured cabling systems.
Independently manage work, monitor timelines and deliverables, prioritize work, and suggest adjustments when resources or timelines change.
Collaborate across teams, understand stakeholder and customer needs, listen to diverse perspectives, and support effective partnerships.
Identify and troubleshoot standard and non-standard issues, escalating complex issues as appropriate and contributing to knowledge sharing.
Build skills and knowledge through continuous learning, feedback, and training, and stay current with industry trends and best practices.
Recommend process, protocol, and workflow improvements and seek input on alternative approaches.
