About The Position

This position will play an instrumental role in the analysis of failed parts returned from warranty to decide actions and helping the recovery of warranty cost from suppliers. The Field Quality Engineer position will also be responsible for the detection, analysis, reporting, and monitoring of resolutions of Product Quality and Process Quality issues occurring at distribution centers, dealers, and customers. The goal of this position is to quickly and effectively analyze part failures reported from Dealers/Customers across the US/CA. The key function of this profile is to interact with Dealers/customers and Regional Service Managers to understand key issues raised through an online dealer module and work on providing solutions at a faster pace through parts analysis.

Requirements

  • Technical Product knowledge in Tractors, Off-road or Farm equipment industry is ESSENTIAL.
  • Independent exposure to parts Failure Analysis and problem resolution.
  • Able to inspect parts as per drawing dimensions and able to identify non-conformance.
  • Strong technical/mechanical background in tractor/construction equipment/farm equipment technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills to be able to converse with dealers and employees via phone and email.
  • Good understanding of Electrical circuits, ECU diagnostics through diagnostic tools.
  • Able to use multimeter and how electrical systems and circuits troubleshoot.
  • Skilled at parts assembly/dis-assembly, able to use basics tools for parts tear down analysis.
  • Have a root cause / countermeasure approach to problem resolution.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and multitasking approach.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with plants, dealers, suppliers, and internal team members.
  • Bachelor’s / Associate Degree in Engineering, with technical certifications OR 10+ years of experience (without Engineering Graduation) in failure parts analysis, parts inspection, drawing study and quality audits.
  • 5+ years of experience (with Engineering Graduation) in failure parts analysis, parts inspection, drawing study and quality audits.
  • Ability to prepare failure analysis reports and independent meetings with cross functional teams to explain case studies.
  • Able to operate MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently is required.
  • Must have resources to provide reliable transportation to and from place of work.
  • High energy levels, Strong communication, presentation, and teamwork skills.

  • Knowledge of SAP system added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze failed parts returned from warranty to decide actions and help recover warranty costs from suppliers.
  • Detect, analyze, report, and monitor resolutions of Product Quality and Process Quality issues occurring at distribution centers, dealers, and customers.
  • Interact with Dealers/customers and Regional Service Managers to understand key issues raised through an online dealer module.
  • Provide solutions at a faster pace through parts analysis.
  • Inspect parts as per drawing dimensions and identify non-conformance.
  • Monitor dealer portal for complaints and work with Dealers and Field Service Managers to resolve complaints.
  • Support in the administration of product updates on customer tractors & dealer stock tractors and execution of campaigns.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and circuits using a multimeter.
  • Perform parts assembly/dis-assembly and use basic tools for parts tear down analysis.
  • Apply a root cause/countermeasure approach to problem resolution.
  • Work with suppliers to correct product non-conformance reported in product supplied.
  • Prepare failure analysis reports and conduct independent meetings with cross-functional teams to explain case studies.
