About The Position

National General, a part of The Allstate Corporation, is seeking a Field Property Adjuster to investigate and evaluate homeowners property claims from start to finish. This role involves confirming facts of loss, determining coverage, assessing damages, and negotiating settlements within assigned authority. The adjuster will manage the entire claim lifecycle, including supplements, Additional Living Expense (ALE) claims, contents, and personal property losses. A key aspect of the position is delivering excellent customer service through clear, timely communication, keeping customers informed and supported throughout the claims process. The company offers home, auto, and accident and health insurance, as well as other specialty niche insurance products.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Xactimate.
• Strong foundation in claims handling, including supplements, ALE, contents and full claim ownership.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Proactive approach.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Must terminate all existing insurance license appointments prior to onboarding and must not hold any outside appointments at any point during employment.
• Applicants seeking an adjuster role who also hold a resident producer license must formally surrender that license when instructed to by the licensing team.

Nice To Haves

• Experience handling claims in both field and desk settings is strongly preferred.
• Holds an active adjuster license or possess a license that qualifies for reciprocity in the applicable states is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and evaluate homeowners property claims from start to finish.
• Confirm the facts of loss, determine coverage, assess damages, and negotiate settlements within assigned authority.
• Manage the entire claim lifecycle, including supplements, Additional Living Expense (ALE) claims, contents, and personal property losses.
• Work closely with customers, contractors, and other partners to ensure claims are handled accurately and efficiently.
• Deliver excellent customer service through clear, timely communication, keeping customers informed and supported throughout the claims process.
• Exhibit mastery estimating fundamentals in order to create estimates of damages on the most complex 1st party homeowner losses of all severities.
• Build mastered relationships with both internal and external customers.
• Interpret regulatory compliance and fair claims practices.
• Negotiate settlements, make settlement payments and document all activities in the most complex of files.
• Apply mastered content in interpretations of all policy types written by the company and assist leadership in formal and ad hoc training.
• Recommend process improvements.
