About The Position

Field Organizers are needed to help build and run voter registration canvassing operations across Texas. The role involves recruiting, training, and supporting canvassers, coordinating daily field logistics, and maintaining program data accuracy. This position works closely with the Field Director to increase voter registration and achieve program goals. The ideal candidate is organized, motivated, and comfortable leading people in the field. Resumes are being collected for current and future locations as the program expands. Field Organizers will receive program training and complete the county Volunteer Deputy Registrar appointment process before starting field work.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
  • Must have a working smartphone with access to apps.
  • Must be available full-time, including evenings and weekends.
  • Must complete required program training before beginning field work.
  • Must be able to meet Texas Volunteer Deputy Registrar eligibility requirements, including:
  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Be a United States citizen.
  • Be a resident of the State of Texas.
  • Not have been determined by a final judgment of a court exercising probate jurisdiction to be totally mentally incapacitated, or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote.
  • Never have been convicted of failing to deliver a voter registration application to a voter registrar.
  • Not have been finally convicted of a felony, or, if convicted, must have fully discharged the sentence — including any term of incarceration, parole, or supervision, or completed a period of probation ordered by any court — or been pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disability to vote.
  • Not have been finally convicted of identity theft under Section 32.51 of the Texas Penal Code.
  • Must follow all Texas voter registration, form-handling, and submission requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Experience in political, community, or grassroots organizing preferred.
  • Comfortable with apps and data-entry tools; experience with VAN or similar voter software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Help develop and carry out organizing strategy and daily canvassing plans.
  • Recruit, train, and support canvassers in assigned Texas areas.
  • Assist with Day 1 onboarding, paperwork and I-9 verification, and program training.
  • Coordinate turf assignments and daily field logistics alongside the Field Director.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry and form tracking throughout the program.
  • Provide quantitative and qualitative reports on canvassing progress.
  • Canvass alongside the team as needed (approximately 4–6 hours a day, depending on the day).
  • Help identify outreach hotspots and gather success stories to share internally and externally.
  • Follow all Texas voter registration, form-handling, and submission rules.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
