About The Position

Vote Blue is seeking full-time Field Organizers to build and lead canvass teams in Raleigh, NC. These teams will engage voters face-to-face to encourage them to 'Vote Blue' in the upcoming November elections. The role involves recruiting, training, and coaching canvassers, driving voter contact through personal door-knocking shifts, and organizing Get-Out-the-Vote actions. Organizers will also manage data and reporting using various campaign tools. This position is crucial for mobilizing voters and fighting for issues such as reproductive rights and the protection of democracy.

Requirements

• Based in or willing to relocate to Raleigh, NC for the duration of the campaign.
• Available to work 40–60 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays, from September through Election Day.
• Regular driving is required.
• Must be approved based on driving record (valid driver's license, car insurance, no motor vehicle moving violations in the past 3 years).
• Demonstrated leadership, strong interpersonal skills, and a track record of reliability through work, volunteer, academic, or community experience (for entry-level candidates).

Nice To Haves

• Organizing or canvassing experience in or around Raleigh, NC.
• Experience on electoral, nonprofit, or issue campaigns.
• Experience managing or coaching a team.
• Experience with campaign tools such as VAN, ThruText, Action Network, or EveryAction.
• Event or project planning and management.
• Experience working on reproductive rights or health care access.

Responsibilities

• Recruit canvassers through calls, texts, and in-field recruitment.
• Run canvass trainings on voter conversations, messaging, and safety practices.
• Coach canvassers in the field and develop team leads.
• Keep meticulous track of roster and shift schedule.
• Build relationships with community leaders and partner organizations.
• Knock doors on at least 3 of your own shifts each week and hit personal voter contact goals.
• Plan turf and shifts backwards from daily and weekly door and contact goals.
• Talk with voters about what's at stake this election, including reproductive rights, and encourage them to Vote Blue.
• Plan and run canvass launches and GOTV weekends.
• Ensure 100% of all messaging and legal requirements are met by the team.
• Use Google Suite, VAN, peer-to-peer texting, and relational organizing tools.
• Track doors knocked, contacts made, shifts completed, and canvasser attendance.
• Report numbers daily and write weekly reports on campaign results.
