About The Position

Vote Blue is a field firm specializing in face-to-face canvassing operations. Our field campaigns have provided the margin of victory in close elections at the local, state, and national levels. We are currently seeking Field Organizers to join us on an important and exciting campaign to build and lead the canvass teams talking to voters in Philadelphia, PA and encouraging them to Vote Blue in the upcoming November elections. We are hiring for multiple organizer positions in multiple cities throughout the state. Voter Contact: Help us turn out Democrats in Pennsylvania to get out the vote and win! Pennsylvania played a pivotal role in the last election, and we know it will again this year. By supporting Democrats, we have the chance to make a significant impact. Join us as we work to win this election! Reproductive Rights: We're working to ensure that everyone can live, thrive, and raise families in healthy communities. When people can make decisions about their own reproductive health care, they have more control over their economic security, their health and well-being, and can build the future they see for themselves. Politicians have no business interfering with private health care decisions. We're fighting to stop this government intrusion and put the power back in the hands of the people. There is a lot at stake this election, and we need your help organizing members of your community to ensure reproductive rights are protected and restored across the nation! Come join us as we work to protect democracy this election season! Field Organizers are responsible for building and leading a canvass team that talks with voters face to face and encourages them to Vote Blue in November. You'll start by recruiting and training your team, then lead daily voter contact shifts, coach canvassers and team leads, and drive turnout through Election Day. You'll also have your own door-knocking goals, with at least four of your own canvass shifts each week. As your team grows, they'll be out on the doors with you.

Requirements

Based in or willing to relocate to Philadelphia, PA for the duration of the campaign.
Available to work 40–60 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays, from September through Election Day.
Regular driving is required.
All staff who drive must be approved based on their driving record, which requires a valid driver's license, car insurance, and no motor vehicle moving violations in the past 3 years.

Nice To Haves

Previous organizing experience is a plus but not required.
Organizing or canvassing experience in or around Philadelphia, PA.
Experience on electoral, nonprofit, or issue campaigns.
Experience managing or coaching a team.
Experience with campaign tools such as VAN, ThruText, Action Network, or EveryAction.
Event or project planning and management.
Experience working on reproductive rights or health care access.

Responsibilities

Recruit canvassers through calls, texts, and in-field recruitment in the community and on local campuses.
Run canvass trainings on voter conversations, messaging, and safety practices.
Coach canvassers in the field and develop team leads.
Keep meticulous track of your roster and shift schedule so no canvasser falls through the cracks.
Build relationships with community leaders and partner organizations to support recruitment and turnout.
Knock doors on at least 3 of your own shifts each week and hit personal voter contact goals.
Plan turf and shifts backwards from daily and weekly door and contact goals.
Talk with voters about what's at stake this election, including reproductive rights, and encourage them to Vote Blue.
Plan and run canvass launches and GOTV weekends.
Nail 100% of all messaging and legal requirements and ensure that your team does the same.
Use Google Suite, VAN, peer-to-peer texting, and relational organizing tools.
Track everything: doors knocked, contacts made, shifts completed, and canvasser attendance.
Report numbers daily and write weekly reports on campaign results.
