About The Position

Amrize is seeking a versatile and safety-focused Field Operator Relief (B-Operator Relief) to support continuous plant operations at the Exshaw Cement Plant. This role provides coverage for B-Operators during vacations, absences, and staffing gaps. When not performing relief duties, the role supports Yard operations including housekeeping, material handling, and general plant support. This is a dynamic, multi-functional position requiring adaptability, strong work ethic, and the ability to perform effectively in both process operations and labour-intensive environments.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of industrial or manufacturing experience preferred
• Perform housekeeping and cleanup across plant and yard areas
• Strong commitment to safety
• Ability to adapt between operational and labour roles
• Troubleshooting and decision-making ability
• Physically fit; able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Comfortable in demanding environments
• Self-motivated and team-oriented
• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
• Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
• A pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing and a criminal record check, will be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage for B-Operators to maintain safe and continuous plant operations
• Monitor plant areas and perform inspections and condition checks
• Troubleshoot operational issues and take corrective actions
• Maintain housekeeping standards in operating areas
• Communicate with Control Room Operators and Maintenance teams
• Perform Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRAs)
• Identify and report hazards and equipment deficiencies
• Operate equipment such as manlifts and overhead cranes (as trained)
• Support plant shutdowns, start-ups, and upset conditions
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.
