About The Position

Pape’ Machinery, Inc.’s Agriculture & Turf Division is seeking a Field Mechanic to work in Yakima, Washington. The role involves servicing agriculture equipment at customer locations, completing repairs accurately and promptly, and helping customers maximize equipment uptime. The mechanic travels throughout the area in a fully equipped Pape’ service vehicle, performs repairs, and interacts directly with customers. The mechanic diagnoses equipment malfunctions and failures in the field and repairs, replaces, or rebuilds engines, transmissions, carburetors, final drives, steering, clutches, cross shafts, hydraulic components, electrical systems, and air systems. Welding and fabrication are also required at times. Pape’ describes its compensation as competitive and offers training, mentoring, benefits, and opportunities for advancement. Requirements

At least 3 years of experience diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment, preferably agriculture equipment.
Basic computer knowledge.
Self-motivation.
Ability to work with little or no supervision.
Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
Driver’s license with a good driving record.
Must provide own tools.
Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

Diagnose agriculture equipment malfunctions or failures in the field.
Repair, replace, or rebuild engines, transmissions, carburetors, final drives, steering, clutches, cross shafts, hydraulic components, electrical systems, air systems, and related components.
Perform welding and fabrication work when needed.
Travel to customer locations in a Pape’ service vehicle to complete equipment repairs.
Ensure repairs are accurate and timely and equipment is operating properly.
Interact with customers and support their equipment uptime.
