About The Position

The Field Marketing Operations Manager serves as the operational leader of the Field Marketing department and is responsible for managing the department's day-to-day business operations. Acting as the Director of Field Marketing's second-in-command, this position exercises independent judgment in planning, directing, and optimizing department operations, ensuring strategic initiatives are executed efficiently across all markets. This role is responsible for operational planning, resource allocation, budget administration, vendor management, event execution, retail partnership support, process improvement, and departmental compliance. The Field Marketing Operations Manager develops and implements operational solutions, establishes priorities, and makes decisions that directly impact departmental performance, financial results, and organizational objectives. The Director focuses primarily on market growth, strategic partnerships, and leadership development, while this position oversees the operational execution necessary to achieve departmental goals.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in event coordination, field marketing, marketing operations, or a similar execution-focused role; prior supervisory or team-lead experience preferred.
  • Exceptional organization and follow-through; able to manage a high-volume event calendar with many moving parts and hard deadlines.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and comfort working with data, budgets, and reporting; experience with HCM or payroll systems (e.g., Paylocity) a plus.
  • Clear, professional communicator who can coordinate effectively across office staff, field teams, vendors, and venue partners.
  • Self-starter with an ownership mindset — able to execute independently, anticipate needs, and keep operations running without close supervision.
  • Availability for after-hours and weekend work as required by the show and event schedule.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to event sites across Texas markets.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Field Marketing department across all markets.
  • Translate strategic objectives established by the Director into operational plans and independently manage execution.
  • Exercise independent judgment in prioritizing departmental initiatives, allocating resources, and resolving operational issues.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and develop, implement, and monitor process improvements that increase productivity and reduce departmental costs.
  • Develop, document, and maintain departmental operating procedures and best practices.
  • Serve as the operational decision-maker for day-to-day departmental functions in the Director's absence.
  • Direct the planning and execution of shows, retail events, and promotional activations across multiple markets.
  • Determine event staffing requirements and operational resource allocation to maximize return on investment while maintaining departmental cost objectives.
  • Oversee the master event calendar, ensuring strategic prioritization of events, staffing, deadlines, registrations, and operational readiness.
  • Evaluate event performance metrics and determine operational adjustments to improve lead generation, staffing efficiency, and profitability.
  • Independently resolve operational issues involving venues, vendors, staffing shortages, logistics, scheduling conflicts, and event execution.
  • Manage the department's operational budget, monitor expenditures, and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
  • Review vendor invoices, contracts, and expenditures for accuracy and compliance with budget objectives.
  • Analyze departmental Cost of Marketing (COM), identify trends, and implement corrective actions to achieve financial targets.
  • Prepare financial reports and operational analyses for executive leadership.
  • Manage operational relationships with vendors, venues, suppliers, and business partners.
  • Negotiate operational logistics, scheduling, service expectations, and issue resolution with third-party vendors within delegated authority.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and recommend changes that improve operational efficiency and service quality.
  • Oversee operational support for retail partnerships across all markets.
  • Evaluate staffing levels, operational performance, and compliance with partner expectations.
  • Develop solutions to improve retail staffing efficiency, customer experience, and operational consistency.
  • Analyze operational reports, staffing trends, event performance, financial metrics, and marketing effectiveness.
  • Interpret data to identify opportunities for improvement and provide recommendations that influence departmental planning and business strategy.
  • Develop executive-level reporting that supports leadership decision-making.
  • Oversee payroll compliance, bonus reporting, departmental records, contracts, inventory management, and operational documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, departmental procedures, and administrative requirements.
  • Develop systems that improve workflow efficiency and reporting accuracy.
  • Serve as the primary operational liaison between Field Marketing and Finance, HR, IT, Sales, Operations, and Marketing.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives requiring coordination between multiple departments.
  • Resolve operational issues requiring collaboration across business units.
