This leadership role is responsible for 1st Phorm's national field marketing function, including ownership of the Street Team, the field marketing budget, and the strategy for our presence in grassroots, retail, and event spaces. As the brand aggressively expands across Better For You (BFY) and Phorm Energy, this position offers a clear growth trajectory within the Events & Activations team and significant autonomy to develop and scale new field marketing initiatives. The Field Marketing Manager will lead and scale 1st Phorm's field marketing operations nationwide, ensuring high levels of execution, professionalism, and measurable performance to drive brand growth, retail velocity, and consumer acquisition. This role encompasses street team leadership, budget management, scheduling, grassroots strategy, guerrilla marketing innovation, and field-level ROI tracking, all aligned with broader company growth objectives. It is a role that is both strategic and hands-on.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in field marketing, event marketing, or brand activations, including at least 2+ years managing a distributed or multi-market field team
  • Experience in field marketing or brand activation within CPG, supplements, beverage, or fitness industries strongly preferred with competitor brand experience being a plus
  • Proven leadership and team management experience, including managing remote or geographically dispersed teams
  • Strong budgeting and financial oversight skills; experience owning a six-figure+ annual budget preferred
  • Ability to travel frequently (75%+)

Responsibilities

  • Directly manage the 1st Phorm Street Team
  • Lead weekly field marketing team meetings
  • Establish clear performance expectations and KPIs
  • Conduct ongoing coaching, training, and accountability check-ins
  • Ensure high-level execution standards across all activations
  • Maintain strong team morale, communication, and discipline across a distributed, multi-market team
  • Develop future field leaders and succession planning
  • Oversee planning and execution of grassroots activations, retail samplings, regional events, trade shows, and guerrilla marketing initiatives
  • Ensure all activations are on-brand, on-budget, logistically sound, and measurable
  • Review and approve event briefs, run-of-shows, and staffing plans
  • Step into key events as on-site lead when required
  • Own and manage the national field marketing budget
  • Track spend vs. forecast monthly
  • Approve field expenses and travel
  • Identify cost efficiencies without sacrificing impact
  • Provide budget reporting to Director of Events
  • Ensure strong ROI alignment across all field initiatives
  • Ensure adequate staffing for all field events
  • Prevent schedule conflicts and overextension
  • Maintain activation coverage across priority markets
  • Identify and bring new event opportunities to the table
  • Source grassroots and regional events aligned with fitness, college, motorsports, and first responder communities
  • Evaluate opportunities based on sampling reach, cost, audience alignment, sampling rights, data capture potential, and retail proximity
  • Present structured opportunity briefs for leadership approval
  • Develop and execute creative, high-impact, low-cost guerrilla marketing tactics
  • Identify unconventional ways to drive product trial, capture emails/SMS, create organic content, and generate local buzz
  • Pilot new activation concepts and measure results
  • Continuously test and iterate new in-market growth strategies
  • Align field efforts with retail growth priorities
  • Ensure field activations are strategically placed near retail partners
  • Support velocity-building initiatives (store competitions, samplings, etc.)
  • Track and report on retail lift tied to activations
  • Track and report on samples distributed, emails/SMS captured, retail lift (where applicable), cost per activation, cost per lead, impressions & engagement
  • Deliver concise weekly updates
  • Participate in bi-monthly performance reviews
  • Ensure field data is properly documented and measurable
  • Work closely with the media/creative team, BFY team, Student Marketer program, Legionnaire program, and Operations & Logistics
  • Ensure brand consistency across all field touchpoints
  • Provide creative briefs for field assets and signage
  • Communicate clearly across departments
  • Represent 1st Phorm with professionalism and integrity
  • Maintain high appearance and conduct standards for the team
  • Protect brand image at all events
  • Lead with intensity, ownership, and accountability
