About The Position

AGC Heat Transfer, a leading manufacturer of sanitary plate heat exchangers in North America, is seeking a skilled, customer-driven Field Maintenance Specialist based in Lansing, MI. This traveling role supports customers across the U.S. and is ideal for mechanically inclined professionals who enjoy hands-on work, travel, and direct customer interaction, and thrive on solving problems and being the expert customers rely on.

Requirements

• Prior experience as a traveling technician
• High school diploma or GED
• Strong mechanical aptitude and tool experience
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills
• Proficiency with Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

• Perform Plate Check™ and tubular heat exchanger inspections
• Execute repairs, troubleshooting, and installation supervision
• Conduct on-site customer training
• Travel >15 days/month (including some weekends)
• Maintain detailed plant folders, documentation, and follow-up communication
• Collaborate with AGC Sales Engineers on upcoming service needs
• Submit accurate service reports within 48 hours
• Mentor new technicians as needed
