About The Position

SDMyers is hiring Field Inspection Technicians (FIT) to join their growing field team in Albany, NY. In this role, you will inspect energized transformers and collect oil samples that are shipped to their lab in Northeast Ohio. This position is essential for keeping the power grid running smoothly, and the company provides a paid, 8-week training program for all new hires. The role involves working outdoors in various environments and weather conditions, extensive driving in a company vehicle, and occasional air travel. You will work around live electrical equipment in industrial settings, with complete safety training, uniforms, PPE, and equipment provided. The position requires weekly travel from Monday to Friday, with weekends at home. Candidates must be able to pass a hair follicle drug test and background check.

Requirements

• Mechanical or electrical experience preferred
• Ability to travel weekly (Monday–Friday), home on weekends
• Commitment to safety and a strong work ethic
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to pass a physical and drug screen
• Independence, integrity, and initiative
• Must be able to pass Hair Follicle drug test and BG check
