As a Field Engineering Specialist, you will travel to customer sites within your assigned territory to provide expert technical repair and installation services for Roche product lines. This role involves routine technical support, on-site service, repair, and installation of Roche products, acting as the primary customer contact for technical and service-related issues, and performing preventative maintenance. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures, documenting all activities, contributing to quality improvement initiatives, and ensuring maximum customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and 2 years of technical school or equivalent military training or work experience.
  • 5 years of progressive experience in repairing or servicing mechanical/system hardware and software, or networking/wireless networking.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 1-2 years of progressive experience.
  • Successful completion of training or certification as defined by RD Services Leadership and policy.
  • Ability to travel, including overnight travel.

Nice To Haves

  • 8+ years of progressive experience or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus 4+ years of progressive experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of electronics, electro-mechanical systems, information technology, and basic chemistry.
  • Ability to serve as an internal technical resource.
  • Ability to provide support after hours and on weekends/holidays.
  • Ability to maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Reside in South of Seattle.

Responsibilities

  • Travel and showcase expertise in technical repair and installation for assigned Roche product lines.
  • Offer valuable service to laboratory customers in the assigned territory.
  • Provide routine technical support, on-site service, repair, and installation of Roche products.
  • Serve as a customer contact for technical and service-related issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance.
