The Roche Support Network is dedicated to providing exceptional customer support. As a Field Engineering Specialist, you will travel to provide technical repair and installation expertise for assigned Roche product lines, offering valuable service to laboratory customers within your territory. This role involves routine technical support, on-site service, repair, and installation of Roche products. You will act as the primary customer contact for technical and service-related issues, perform preventative maintenance, and diagnose and resolve mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures. Your responsibilities will include documenting all activities, contributing to quality improvement initiatives, and focusing on maximizing customer satisfaction. This is a field-based position requiring daily travel and up to 55% overnight travel. Ideally, candidates will reside within 50 miles of Tampa, FL.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and 2 years of technical school or equivalent military training or work experience.
  • 5 years of progressive experience in repairing or servicing mechanical/system hardware and software, or networking/wireless networking.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 1-2 years of progressive experience.
  • Successful completion of training or certification as defined by RD Services Leadership and policy.
  • Ability to travel, including overnight travel.

Nice To Haves

  • 8+ years of progressive experience or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus 4+ years of progressive experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of electronics, electro-mechanical systems, information technology, and basic chemistry.
  • Ability to serve as an internal technical resource.
  • Ability to provide support after hours and on weekends/holidays.
  • Ability to maintain strong customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Travel and showcase expertise in technical repair and installation for Roche assigned product lines.
  • Offer valuable service to laboratory customers in the assigned territory.
