This position is responsible for maintaining and building customer relationships by ensuring customer requests are met in a timely fashion. The role involves designing layouts for service additions and changes to the Company electric system using approved standards and policies, performing technical calculations, and preparing work orders. The Field Engineering Designer I will communicate internal and external Company requirements for electric service installation. This includes designing, negotiating, and coordinating the installation of residential, commercial, and industrial services, preparing cost estimates, work orders, and written service agreements. The role also involves preparing easement documents and private property permits, designing and coordinating the relocation of overhead and underground facilities, recommending and coordinating the installation of residential streetlights, and preparing work orders for security lighting and unmetered services. Additionally, the position requires preparing residential or commercial contracts, performing analysis/assistance in emergency restoration efforts, and potentially working beyond regular business hours. The role requires the ability to determine detail design, applicable fees, easement requirements, permitting requirements, and locations for service requests, using independent judgment and discretion in applying Engineering Standards and Business Policies. Safety awareness and the ability to react to unsafe acts or conditions are crucial. The position also involves negotiation, teamwork, judgment, and customer service orientation.
