About The Position
Field Engineer I is an entry-level role supporting on-site project execution through documentation, layout assistance, and coordination with field teams. The position provides foundational exposure to construction operations, safety standards, and project sequencing. Working under the guidance of superintendents and project managers, the Field Engineer tracks site progress, updates logs, assists with RFIs and submittals, and learns the tools and workflows used to deliver projects successfully.
Requirements
- B.A. or B.S. in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture, or equivalent experience.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual ability is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Perform primary and secondary (horizontal and vertical) building control under supervision.
- Maintain primary control points throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist with project mobilization and site setup.
- Support job site cleanliness and safety initiatives.
- Help monitor quality control and maintain as-built drawings.
- Assist in field coordination of subcontractors.
- Receive and inventory materials.
- Track timekeeping for hourly personnel.
- Support the generation, processing, and tracking of RFIs and submittals.
- Assist with management of hourly personnel, including carpenters, foremen, and laborers.
- Participate in the SOS (Safety Observations System) program.
- Demonstrate basic constructability knowledge, including construction terminology and plan reading.
- Help maintain SWPPP inspection documentation.
