About The Position

MGC Contractors, Inc., a 100% employee-owned corporation specializing in water and wastewater general contracting, is seeking Field Engineers for its Texas Division in the Austin area. The role supports construction projects through contract administration, scheduling, procurement, cost reporting, subcontractor coordination, and project meetings. Work takes place in a professional office environment and at construction sites, including outdoor work in varied and sometimes extreme weather conditions. Occasional overtime may be required as job duties demand.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related program.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Effective oral and written communication skills and quick response time to inquiries.
Passing a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Prior construction field experience.

Responsibilities

Administer general contracts and subcontracts.
Support construction scheduling.
Procure and expedite materials and equipment.
Coordinate mechanical, electrical, and piping systems.
Review, report, update, and account for project costs.
Review subcontractor applications for payment.
Participate in project meetings.
Supervise and coordinate subcontractors’ field installations.
Review and negotiate subcontractor change proposal pricing and prepare change proposals for self-performed work.
Research and suggest options for construction means, methods, and equipment.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with owners, vendors, and subcontractors.
Perform other duties as assigned.
