Intern - Field Engineer
About The Position
Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking a Field Engineer Intern to work in its corporate office in Tampa, Florida. The intern coordinates with and assists the Project Engineer and Project Manager in planning, organizing, and completing projects within an assigned area of responsibility. Duties may include reviewing project plans and contractor bids, maintaining a safe and clean work environment, entering data, and assisting the Project Manager or Project Engineer with daily tasks. Wharton-Smith is a general contractor and building construction manager serving community needs through projects in water treatment, municipal, education, entertainment, and hospitality sectors. The company was founded in 1984 and describes improving quality of life in the communities where it works as part of its heritage and culture.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with and assist the Project Engineer and Project Manager in planning, organizing, and completing projects within an assigned area of responsibility.
- Review project plans and confer with management.
- Review bids from contractors.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
- Perform data entry.
- Assist the Project Manager or Project Engineer with daily tasks and duties.
