About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Mainline Trackwork Field Engineer to support the delivery of direct fixation trackwork installation on the Surrey Langley Skytrain extension project. This role requires strong coordination skills, with active collaboration across the Construction, Quality, Safety, Engineer of Record (EOR), and Design Support teams to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, and safe execution.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).
Up to 2 years Experience in railway trackwork or heavy civil infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of track geometry, alignment, and construction tolerances.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including Quality, Safety, EOR, and Design Support.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with railway safety standards, quality management systems, and design review processes.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily special trackwork installation activities, ensuring alignment with project plans, schedules, and technical requirements.
Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and survey data; provide guidance to site crews.
Work with the Quality team to implement inspection and test plans (ITPs). Participate in joint inspections and ensure compliance with design tolerances and material specifications. Support non-conformance reporting and corrective actions.
Partner with the Safety team to enforce site safety protocols and railway safety regulations. Participate in safety audits, hazard identification, and toolbox talks.
Coordinate with the EOR to clarify design intent, resolve technical queries, and approve field changes. Work with the Design Support team to address constructability issues, review shop drawings, and incorporate design updates into field execution.
Track work progress, prepare daily site reports, and escalate potential risks or delays.
Identify and resolve technical or logistical challenges in collaboration with relevant teams.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, inspections, design changes, and approvals.
