About The Position

MGC Contractors, Inc., a 100% employee-owned corporation specializing in water and wastewater general contracting, is seeking Field Engineer Interns for its Utah Division in the Eagle Mountain area. The role supports project teams with contract administration, scheduling, procurement, submittals, coordination meetings, construction methods, and quality control.

The position works in both a professional office environment and at construction sites. Work may involve outdoor conditions for extended periods in hot or cold weather, as well as exposure to chemicals, vapors, pollutants, pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machinery, and dust or debris. A pre-employment background check and drug screen are required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Junior or senior working toward a bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related program.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Assist the team with general contract and subcontract administration.
• Gain exposure to construction scheduling.
• Assist with material and equipment procurement and expediting.
• Review and coordinate shop drawings and submittals.
• Participate in and document project coordination meetings.
• Research and suggest options for construction means, methods, and equipment.
• Gain exposure to and monitor quality control.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
