Under close supervision, a Field Engineer I performs a variety of fundamental field engineering tasks in the installation, operations, testing, and maintenance of electronic equipment and systems. Work is at an entry level and is generally performed as a member of a project team. The role involves assembling, modifying, and troubleshooting various systems including cockpits, image generators, monitors, displays, JSE communications systems (computers, Ethernet, Fiber Optic networks), communications and data systems support structures, and hardware for JSE virtual and simulation environment systems. The Field Engineer I will coordinate with engineers on system design, assist in developing layouts and constructs of electronic hardware for simulation control and interface of cockpit systems, and help develop and perform operations and maintenance processes and procedures. This role also supports engineering teams with root cause analysis, implements training and mentorship programs, supports daily operations of planned, corrective, or preventative maintenance events within the JSE environment, supports design reviews and technical exchange working groups, supports test planning events, and reviews equipment instructions, blueprints, electrical and mechanical schematics.
