The Field Enforcement Agent 1 role with the Department of Revenue offers an exciting chance to make a real impact across communities. Requirements

Four years of experience in tax investigation work; or Four years of experience in collections operations in a business, commercial, industrial, government, or finance office; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Possess an active motor vehicle license.
Reside in Allegheny County.
Must be able to perform essential job functions.
Must pass an enhanced background check prior to beginning employment, including a fingerprint-based federal records check; a PA State Police clearance; a check of local law enforcement agencies where you have lived, worked, and/or attended school within the last five (5) years; and a citizenship/residency verification.
Must meet eligibility requirements for the Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN).

Responsibilities

Assist with field investigations of businesses and individuals to gather information and observe compliance efforts
Support efforts to locate delinquent taxpayers, review records, and encourage payment of owed taxes
Participate in surveillance, interviews, and information gathering to help document potential violations
Help collect, organize, and prepare evidence and reports that support enforcement actions
Take part in inspections of businesses and vehicles to verify proper licensing, stamping, and fuel tax compliance
Update account systems to ensure taxpayer information is accurate and enforcement actions are documented
