About The Position

As a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III - Field Service) at United Rentals, you will maintain and repair complex equipment safely and professionally, providing exceptional customer service. The role includes traveling to customer job sites to work on rental or customer-owned equipment. It offers the potential to progress to higher Service Technician or leadership roles in the Service Department.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
3–5 years of experience repairing or maintaining equipment and tools.
Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
Strong mechanical background and knowledge of various engines.
Must own tools applicable to the position.
Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

Safely maintain and repair complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
Travel to customer job sites to repair and maintain rental or customer-owned equipment, keeping the service vehicle clean and professional.
Assist in training lower-level technicians as needed.
Complete paperwork and electronic documentation of work performed, including work orders, accurately and promptly each day.
Assist with equipment and parts pickup and delivery.
Perform other duties as assigned.
