About The Position

As a Diesel Mechanic – Customer Equipment Solutions (Service Tech III - CES) at United Rentals, you’ll perform maintenance and complex repairs on customer-owned equipment safely and professionally. The role offers opportunities to develop toward higher Service Technician levels and leadership roles in the Service Department, while providing exceptional customer service. This position is deemed Safety Sensitive under United Rentals’ policies and procedures. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
3–5 years of experience repairing or maintaining equipment and tools.
Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
Knowledge of construction equipment and a strong mechanical background with various engines.
Must own tools applicable to the position.
Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to frequently lift items weighing up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

Safely maintain and repair a variety of complex customer-owned equipment, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
Complete paperwork and electronic documentation of work performed in work orders accurately and promptly each day.
Upsell and demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment to customers.
Travel to customer job sites when required to repair or maintain customer-owned equipment.
Maintain the service vehicle in a clean and professional manner.
Assist with equipment and parts pickup and delivery.
Perform other duties as assigned.
