About The Position

Claroty's Public Sector practice is rapidly expanding to secure the mission-critical cyber-physical systems (CPS), operational technology (OT), and industrial control systems (ICS) across federal civilian agencies, the Department of Defense (DoD), national security programs, and state and local government. We are looking for mission-driven professionals who want to join a high-growth team dedicated to protecting critical infrastructure, supporting defense and civilian mission outcomes, and ensuring essential services remain resilient and uninterrupted. The Field CTO, Public Sector, serves in a dual-capacity role combining executive field leadership with direct management of the Public Sector Solution Engineering team. You will act as a senior cross-functional advisor across capture and selling strategies, product strategy, crisis management, customer success, and team enablement, while driving regional technical pre-sales operations, architecting enterprise zero-trust architectures, and mentoring solution engineers across Federal, tribal, and SLED accounts. Location: US Remote (Washington, D.C. metro area preferred). Travel: Approximately 25-35% travel required for customer meetings, agency briefings, and industry events.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience as a technical manager, Solutions Engineering leader, or Field CTO in a cybersecurity product company or Public Sector practice.
  • Hands-on technical expertise in networks, database architecture, troubleshooting, and cybersecurity standards, with proven ability to go deep technically or stay high-level strategic depending on the audience.
  • Deep understanding of Public Sector acquisition processes, Federal procurement cycles, RFP/RFI/RFP responses, government contract vehicles (e.g., GSA Schedule), and systems integrator / prime contractor partnerships.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and executive-influencing skills with a focus on inclusive language and cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and build diverse teams while managing complex POCs, technical evaluation processes, and sales targets from plan to close.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree related to technology, engineering, or business discipline.
  • Experience with OT/ICS/CPS environments, mission work methods, and operational culture in Federal, DoD, or SLED agencies.
  • Active security clearance (e.g., Secret, TS/SCI) or eligibility to obtain one, plus relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CISM, GICSP, ISA99 Cybersecurity).
  • Strong working knowledge of key Federal cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards, including NIST CSF, NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, FedRAMP, CJIS, CMMC, DoD Zero Trust Architecture, and IEC 62443.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and recruit a high-performing solution engineering team.
  • Partner with sales leaders, GMs, and partners to drive pre-sales strategy, achieve quotas, and optimize team performance metrics.
  • Serve as executive solution architect and trusted advisor to agency leaders and prime contractors, aligning Claroty solutions with complex Federal/SLED cybersecurity and compliance needs.
  • Channel field feedback and threat intelligence to Product Management.
  • Drive selling across government contract vehicles (e.g., GSA, SEWP).
  • Represent Claroty as a thought leader at public sector events.
  • Partner on critical customer escalations.
  • Design ATO acceleration strategies.
  • Lead technical enablement for internal teams, partners, and agency customers.
