About The Position
Tuff Shed is recruiting a Field Construction Technician to help provide high-quality Tuff Shed products. The position supports delivery, warranty service, customer service, and upkeep of retail displays and marketing materials. The technician assists with safe delivery of storage buildings, performs warranty repairs at customer sites, communicates service findings to management, and reports vehicle and tool maintenance needs.
Requirements
- General knowledge of the construction industry, basic carpentry, roofing, and painting skills.
- Ability to read a tape measure, working drawings, and a speed square.
- Ability to operate air compressors, air tools, a hammer, saw, drill, and other basic power tools.
- Proven customer-service and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read, write, and understand instructions given orally, in writing, or in diagram form.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, business partners, suppliers, coworkers, managers, and the general public.
- Ability to use mobile application systems for tasks such as scheduling and reporting.
Nice To Haves
- Experience driving a flatbed truck or box truck, towing trailers, unloading, and transporting materials.
- Experience as a big-box delivery driver.
- Experience with vehicle inspections.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the safe delivery of Tuff Shed storage buildings to Home Depot stores, customer properties, and retail sales lots.
- Perform customer-service warranty repairs at customer sites effectively, efficiently, courteously, and within scheduled timeframes.
- Provide management with feedback about whether customer concerns are warranty issues, chargeable issues, or completion issues.
- Provide excellent service to current and prospective Tuff Shed customers.
- Assist with off-site special events such as Home Shows.
- Assist with upkeep of Home Depot displays and marketing materials.
- Inform the Operations Manager of Tuff Shed vehicle service and maintenance requirements.
- Report defective, worn, or inoperable tools and related equipment to management in a timely manner.
- Ensure the vehicle’s GPS device remains connected and operable.
