Field Construction Coordinator (FCC)
About The Position
Think Power Solutions is seeking a Field Construction Coordinator to oversee contractors performing construction on the Owner's electric transmission system. The role ensures contract compliance, safe work practices, and adherence to design specifications across projects ranging from substation upgrades to new substation construction. The coordinator identifies and helps resolve issues that could affect project success, including design, materials, contractor performance, access, and customer issues. The position oversees schedules, coordinates field activities, and communicates construction progress to stakeholders. The coordinator may manage several projects simultaneously at different stages and divides time between office and fieldwork according to project needs. The successful candidate will demonstrate problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills. Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant work experience, such as transmission, substation, or journey lineman experience.
- Proficiency using a computer, iPad, and Microsoft Office products.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must currently be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in the utility industry is a plus and is highly preferred.
- Compliance management experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Ensure contractors comply with contracts and safety standards while working on the Owner's electric transmission system.
- Oversee construction projects, including substation upgrades and new substation builds.
- Identify and assist in resolving issues that could hinder project success, including design problems, material shortages, and contractor performance challenges.
- Support the development and maintenance of project construction schedules.
- Coordinate efforts between entities on site to ensure smooth operations.
- Update stakeholders on construction status and project progress.
- Balance office and field duties according to project needs.
