Field Construction Coordinator (FCC)
About The Position
The Field Construction Coordinator oversees contractors performing construction on the Owner's electric transmission system, ensuring contract compliance, safe work practices, and adherence to design specifications. Projects range from substation upgrades to new substation construction and may be active at different stages simultaneously. The coordinator identifies and helps resolve issues involving design, materials, contractor performance, access, and customer needs; supports project schedules; coordinates field activities; and communicates construction progress to stakeholders. The role combines office and fieldwork, with duties shifting according to project needs.
Requirements
- 10 or more years of relevant work experience, such as transmission, substation, or journey lineman experience.
- Proficiency using a computer, iPad, and Microsoft Office products.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must currently be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in the utility industry is a plus and is highly preferred.
- Compliance management experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Ensure contractors comply with contracts and safety standards while working on the Owner's electric transmission system.
- Oversee construction projects, including substation upgrades and new substation builds.
- Identify and assist in resolving issues that could hinder project success, including design problems, material shortages, contractor performance challenges, access, and customer issues.
- Support the development and maintenance of project construction schedules.
- Coordinate efforts between various entities on site to ensure smooth operations.
- Provide stakeholders with construction status updates and communicate project progress.
- Balance office and field duties according to project needs.
