Field Construction Coordinator (FCC)
About The Position
The Field Construction Coordinator oversees contractors performing construction on the Owner's electric transmission system, ensuring contract compliance, safe work practices, and adherence to design specifications. Projects range from substation upgrades to construction of new substations. The role identifies and helps resolve issues that could affect project success, including design, materials, contractor performance, access, and customer concerns. It also supports project schedules, coordinates field activities, and communicates construction progress to stakeholders. The coordinator may oversee several projects at different stages and balances office and fieldwork according to project needs.
Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant work experience, such as transmission, substation, or journey lineman experience.
- Proficiency using a computer, iPad, and Microsoft Office products.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must currently be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities
- Ensure contractors comply with contracts and safety standards while working on the Owner's electric transmission system.
- Oversee construction projects, including substation upgrades and new substation builds.
- Identify and assist in resolving issues that could hinder project success, including design problems, material shortages, contractor performance, access, and customer issues.
- Support the development and maintenance of project construction schedules.
- Coordinate efforts between entities on site to ensure smooth operations.
- Update stakeholders on construction status and project progress.
- Balance office and field duties according to project needs.
