Field Construction Assistant
About The Position
Roof Depot is hiring a Field Construction Assistant to support our Homebuilder Solutions team. This role is built for someone who wants to build a career in construction, take ownership in the field, and be part of a team focused on execution, quality, and accountability. Whether you are starting your career or looking for a new opportunity, this position provides hands-on experience and a clear path for advancement within a growing construction company. This is a field-based position. You will spend your time on active job sites solving problems, supporting crews, coordinating materials, performing inspections, and helping ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and with quality workmanship.
Requirements
- Entry-level candidates encouraged to apply
- Basic computer and smartphone skills
- Valid driver's license required
- Must meet company driver eligibility requirements
- Must successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening
Nice To Haves
- Construction, roofing, siding, warehouse, delivery, or trade experience is a plus
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Reliable, dependable, and accountable
- Organized with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Able to climb ladders and walk roofs, including moderate slopes
- Able to lift up to 80 pounds
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
Responsibilities
- Support daily field operations across active residential construction projects
- Work alongside Area Construction Managers and Field Construction Managers to keep projects on schedule
- Communicate with crews, suppliers, and builders to resolve issues and keep jobs moving
- Assist with quality control inspections and safety compliance
- Help manage material deliveries, shortages, returns, and job site logistics
- Track project progress from start to completion
- Support punch list completion, warranty items, and final walkthroughs
- Assist with material transportation and deliveries when needed
