About The Position
National General, a part of The Allstate Corporation, is seeking an Auto Claims Appraiser to join their Washington team. This role involves working directly with repair facilities and customers by completing on-site estimates and vehicle appraisals. The ideal candidate will be based in Olympia, Tacoma, or the surrounding area to best support the territory. The position is responsible for creating comprehensive estimates of damages for 1st and 3rd party material damage claims, leading to proper disposition. This role also serves as a peer mentor, having mastered company processes and obtained technical expertise.
Requirements
- Active insurance license (must terminate all existing appointments prior to onboarding and must not hold any outside appointments at any point during employment)
- Applicants seeking an adjuster role who also hold a resident producer license must formally surrender that license when instructed to by the licensing team.
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Possess a dedicated, private workspace free from distractions, along with appropriate desk and seating when working from home.
- Reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload.

Responsibilities
- Applies mastered content in interpretations of all policy types written by the company and assists leadership in formal and ad hoc training
- Negotiates settlements, makes settlement payments and documents all activities in the most complex of files
- Interprets regulatory compliance and fair claims practices
- Builds mastered relationships with both internal and external customers
- Exhibits mastery estimating fundamentals in order to create estimates of damages on 1st and 3rd party material damage losses of all severities
