About The Position

Kokosing Materials, Inc. is hiring a Field Asphalt Plant Mechanic to work at various asphalt plants and terminals in the Central Ohio region. The role supports hot-mix asphalt production through plant upgrades, maintenance, and repairs. The working environment combines indoor and outdoor settings. The position is primarily first shift, with potential work at night and on weekends. The mechanic may work under supervision or independently, operate company equipment, complete required paperwork and training, and follow the direction of supervisors and project team members. When needed, the individual may fill in for other asphalt plant duties, including Ground Man or Loader Man. The role requires prioritizing safety, working efficiently, and following applicable OSHA/MSHA guidelines. Requirements

Knowledge of asphalt plant operations.
Cutting and welding experience (MIG, TIG, and Stick) and ability to pass certification.
Mechanical knowledge.
Ability to interpret drawings, welding symbols, and specifications.
Crane rigging and signaling certification.
Ability to work in confined spaces.
Lockout/tagout experience and/or certification.
Class B CDL.
Ability to operate manlifts and work in elevated areas.
Clean driving record.
Ability to pass drug and alcohol screenings on demand.
Ability to work independently or with large groups of team members.
Ability to work in all environments, including wind, rain, snow, heat, cold, and loud areas.
Ability to lift 75 pounds.
Ability to climb ladders and work at heights up to 135 feet.
Problem-solving ability.
Ability to work nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

Perform plant upgrades, maintenance, and repairs to support hot-mix asphalt production.
Work both under supervision and independently, completing tasks in a timely, efficient, and safe manner.
Follow applicable OSHA/MSHA guidelines and prioritize the safety of self and team members.
Operate company equipment.
Submit necessary paperwork and complete company-prescribed training.
Follow the direction of supervisors and other project team members.
Represent the company positively and work effectively with others.
Fill in for other asphalt plant duties when needed, including Ground Man or Loader Man.
