About The Position

Kokosing Materials, Inc. (KMI) is hiring an Asphalt Plant Operator to safely operate and maintain asphalt plants and construction equipment, manage plant supplies and inventory, and supervise a plant crew. The role includes maintaining equipment, monitoring and adjusting production and material blends, completing plant documentation, and supporting safe and efficient plant operations. The position is scheduled for second shift and requires travel to other surrounding plants in Northeast Ohio as needed to cover time-off requests, night shifts, and project demands. The operator must also be willing to work day or night shifts, including weekends, and travel.

Responsibilities

Safely operate and maintain the asphalt plant and construction equipment.
Conduct walk-around and site inspections of equipment to identify and correct unsafe conditions.
Perform preventive maintenance and ensure equipment is serviced as needed.
Communicate with quality control personnel and adjust material blends as needed.
Monitor inventory levels of mix materials and order materials as needed.
Monitor production levels and adjust production as needed.
Calibrate the plant properly.
Supervise plant employees and, when designated, train employees.
Monitor the plant site to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow.
Troubleshoot and resolve production problems, discussing them with co-workers and supervisors.
Complete plant reports and other documentation accurately.
Clean the control house and yard facility daily.
Maintain good customer relations.
